3DES License on PIX 515E UR FO Bundle

Greetings,

I managed to upgrade my DES license to a 3DES license on my primary PIX 515E (confirmed by doing a 'sh version'). However, when I do a 'sh version' on my failover PIX it's still registered as a DES license.

The question is whether this is the correct behaviour? If so, how does the failover unit support 3DES when it becomes active? Or does it?

Yes, this is correct behaviour, you need to upgrade both licences to 3DES. The licences on each PIX are separate and are based on their serial number. Not sure if you have to purchase the 2nd licence, talk to your account team about that.

If it fails over currently then the failover PIX won't be able to do any 3DES.
