Hello Group,

Just bought a wireless router from best buy and connected my laptop to the internet with a wireless nic card. UNfortunately, when i did that i am unable to connect to the 3005 VPN concentrator. when i connect, I get a message "negociating policies" and then remote peer terminating connection. At the concentrator we see IKE timeing out.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Is there any nat going on inside the new router? If so you could try enabling nat-t on the concentrator and enable ipsec over tcp/udp on the cisco vpn client.

Check Linksys's knowledge base. There are a couple settings you need to change. Make sure IPSec and PPTP are enabled on the Filters tab in the adavnced menu and on the Forwarding tab, click port triggers and setup:

T. Port Incoming P.

VPN 47-47 1723-1723

VPN 50-50 500-500

That should do it. Worked for my linksys BERSW8 v2.

Flash the firmware to current as well.
