Hi All,
I want configure the CAR on a Cisco 7500, to limit web traffic.
I want to understand how can I effectively calculate two parameters of the
"rate-limit" command: burts-normal & burst-max
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
burst-normal likes Bc in frame-relay, burst-max likes Bc+Be in frame-relay. and the burst-max also is the token bucket size. and the following statement explain how to use:
Router(config-if)#
rate-limit {input | output}
[access-group [rate-limit] number | qos-group number | dscp dscp]
mean-rate Bc Be
...
The rate-limit meter measures the contract compliance of a traffic class selected with a classifier.
A modified token bucket algorithm is used:
mean-rate specifies average traffic rate.
Bc specifies the normal burst size.
Be specifies the excess burst size.
The token bucket size is defined by Be alone.
Hope that helps.
