Is there a way to dump the contents of the DNS cache to a file in CNR?

Have you checked the nrcmd (cli) commands? what version are you running 5.5? There are some export commands available within nrcmd.

I have checked the CLI reference and have been through the CLI itself. It doesn't appear to be an option. I'm using 5.5.6.
