c7200 and internal Flash

We have a new cisco 7204. The IOS is located on the external pcmcia device (disk0:). The boot image is located on the internal boot flash. This seems to be default ...

For backup, I like to have a copy of the ios on internal flash. I have entered <show flash> an got the following message: Open device slot0 failed (Device not ready).

Is this a normal answer? How can I save a copy of the ios to internal flash?

With dir slot0: I get the following result:

%Error opening slot0:/ (Device not ready)

Just a thought...

Just use "dir" on a # promt and see what files you have in which disk/slot

After that you can use "dir slot0: " and "dir slot1: " and you can use

"copy slot0: slot1: "

etc.....

dir all-filesystem lists the following information:

- disk0:/

- system:/

- nvram:/

- bootflash:/

- lex:/ no files in directory

There is no slot0:/ (slot1:/) ...

With

I get the following information:

%Error opening slot0:/ (Device not ready)

disk0: is working. But this is the content of the pc card ...

I only want to copy the content of this card onto internal flash (which seems not to be present).

do a pwd

This will show you what file system you are using. When you do a sh flash it will give you the contents of what ever device is your PWD. see below.
