It depends on the model.

A 515 R = no failover, and you can only use 3 interfaces

515 UR = can use failover (if you buy a pix 515 with the failover license kit), and can use up to 6 interfaces.

525 and 535 have similar limitations.

My question is more related with the restrictive of using unrestricted and restrictive license in the failover.

Do you know what is the difference?

Best is to Contact Cisco vendor/partner to know the difference.

Thanx

If you want to buy a pair for a failover setup, you need to buy identical units, but with different licenses - one needs to have the unrestricted license, and the failover unit needs to have the failover license.

Cisco has different SKU for each package - for example, there is a part number for pix515UR, another for pix515R, and a third for 515FW

Thank for your help.....
