I have a PIX 515 with 32 MB RAM and 16 MB Flash. Can I enable TurboACL ?

Yes. Remember that it is only helpful if you have an ACL with more than 19 entries. Also, note that the Pix will recomplie the ACL everytime you make a change. If the ACL is long and the traffic levels are high, you might see CPU resource issues that can cause traffic to be dropped or significantly delayed when a change is amde.

I understand that the TurboACL is recommended for PIX 525 and 535 models. Mine is a PIX 515. Also I read that TurboACL takes around 2.1MB of memory and also takes around 1MB for every 2000 ACL elements.

I would like to know whether there is any change in the memory requirement if the facility is applied to a particular access-list only rather than appling across all access-lists.

i.e access-list acl_ID compiled and access-list compiled
