Hi ,

i have a sattlite point to point conecction between my offices

one in america and another in asia

i wanted to know if there is any kind of compression technology

to implement on both sides of the link

so we can reduce the cost of our link

you can run compress on your interface.

You should analyze your TCP data, if any, and then try to tweak different TCP parameters.

If your data is already compressed, like jpg images, you wont get any benefit from compression.

thank you for your suggestions and comments

the most important thing that i do care about is latency

unfortunatly software based compressions put high utilization on cpu

and thus increasing the latency

that's why i need some kind of hardware based compression

for my link
