Hi all,

When use port-security in the switch, we use switchport port-security mac-address x.x.x to config the port, but what's the difference with the "switchport port-security violation shutdown" command? Thank You!

Best Regards

Teru Lei

shutdown—When a port security violation occurs, the interface is error-disabled and the port LED is off. When a secure port is in the error-disabled state, you can bring it out of this state by entering the errdisable recovery cause psecure-violation global configuration command, or you can manually re-enable it by entering the shutdown and no shutdown interface configuration commands. This is the default mode.
