Hi,
I need to upgrade the existing IOS from 12.0 to 12.2T in 3660 router. The existing router has 16 MB flash and one Flash slot is free. For 12.2T I need 32 MB flash. I have one more 3660 router in spare with 16 MB flash SIMM installed in it. Now my question is Can I remove the flash SIMM from one 3660 router and install it into another to make it 32 MB flash and upgrade the IOS to 12.2T. Is it possible to place 16 MB flash from one 3660 router to another 3660 router .
Or I need to go for a new flash SIMM of 32 MB (field upgrade FLASH)
Please suggest me how to go about it?
regards,
Pradeep

You cannot use 3620 or 3640 flash. You can use the other 16mb flash to make 32. You have to erase flash so it can use the two together. I'm not recommending them but kingston.com has a good reference showing memory combonations for cisco products.

- Yes you can.

- Yes, it's possible. If I'm not mistaken, you can even use a flash memory from a 3620 or 3640:
Just use the spare 16MB to save money.
Hope that helps.

Yes you are right , I agree that we cannot mix 3620/3640 flash in 3660 router for upgrade.
