unfortuantly repeater mode is proprietary in that all vendors (those who choose to do a repeater)are free to implement this in their own way.

I aways recommend that repeater mode be your absolute last choice in a network design as it will half your through put and will place a lot more load on the radio access causing congestion to be seen much eariler. Remember every packet gets transmitted twice.
