Hello,
My company recently purchased a Local Director 417, we don't have any prior experience with LD's and a simple, I think, question has come up. If the LD is powered off will it pass any traffic at all? The obvious answer seems to be no, but we do have other network devices that when powered off will still pass traffic, so as obvious as it seems I guess it is worth asking the question.
Thanks,

The LD or any other device for that matter cannot pass any traffic when it is powered off.

Actually we do have several devices, packet shapers, that, when powered off, will allow traffic to pass through two designated ports.
Very nice feature.
