Remote peer no longer responding

Hi,

We have a PIX 515 firewall with 6.3 software. We have configured this as a VPN gatway.


We use Cisco VPN client 3.0.3 to connect to the PIX VPN.


We are having problems of "Remote Peer is no longer responding" from the client quite often. But from the client, we are able to access other Web servers on our network which does not require VPN. We are even able to ping the VPN gateway.


Some cases, when we repeatedly try to connect, a few times, the connection gets through.


We suspect this could be an issue with the service provider because of network congestion or filtering.


But the service provider says there could be a problem in the PIX configuration in setting some timeout parameters. But I don't see any timeout value parameter in PIX configuration commands.


Do you have any idea on the problem?
