I set a switch to use radius server. And I left a backdoor for local. The command as :

set authentication login local enable

set authentication radius enable telnet

But when the radius down, switch still show user/password.When I put username(whatever)/password(login), it failed.

Why?

What version of code you are running? Please make sure to run 7.5.1 or above for the local user database authentication. Here is the link that explains the details -

In the link, it shows how to create the local user. Please make sure to do this step. Regards,

Yes, I have checked the article. But in the STEP B, it configure radius used local as a backdoor, which catos is from 5.1 to 7.5.1.

I just wander how it works at catos before 7.5.1
