Hi,

spanning-tree bpdufilter enable

should be an equivalent to STP turn off.

Available since IOS 12.0(5)WC7.

See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c2900xl/29_35wc7/ol231203.htm#714246 for details.

Milan

Just enable "spanning-tree portfast" on ports directly connected to end devices such as workstations/servers/printers

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/12.html

Portfast stops sending TCN BPDUs when port goes down/up.

But config BPDUs are still being sent /received on the port.

I agree this is a safer way. But STP is still working on the port.

Milan

Thanks again. Will try both and let you know.

Many thanks
