I'm investigating the possibility of expanding our etherchannel bandwidth on one switch.
Currently ports 1 and 2 of module 1 in our Catalyst 5500 are in the etherchannel group. We have a second 100BaseFX card in slot 7 with 12 ports. Is it possible to extend the etherchannel across modules using ports 1 and 2 of module 1 and additional ports in module 7?
None of the configuration guides mention cross module grouping.

Hi,
Cross moduling of Channel is not allowed or supported. They have to be all on the same module.

It is allowed with latest CatIOS (I think since 7.1 but I'm not sure) on Cat4000s.
I'm not sure about 5500s.

Ah ok. We did wonder if the newest switches supported it.
Thanks
