Can somebody tell me what the effect of having two gateways in a route group with the same priority? i.e. will Call Manager try to make calls to both gateways, or alternate, etc...

Thanks.

They are not load balanced by default, there is a CallManager service paramater that needs to be modified:

Reorder Route List :

This flag is only applied at the route group level. If this flag is set to True, all devices of the first Route group of a Route list, with the same device-selection-order will take turn to handle calls in the round-robin fashion. Note, this flag is not applied at the device level; that means, a device's ports with the same device-selection-order will not take turn to handle calls in the round-robin fashion. Furthermore, the one of the devices of the first Route group, with the same device-selection-order will handle a call firstly is indeterminate. If this flag is set to False, all of the devices of the first Route group, with the same device-selection-order will handle calls in the linear fashion.

This is a required field.

Default: false.

If you have the same priority for gateways in a route group it is SUPPOSED to load balance but it is a little flaky in my opinion. It definately doesn't hurt anything to have a priority of 1 for both if that is what you were worried about?
