CATALYST SWITCHES IN ACTIVE MODE

Hi ,

I had a strange problem when my Network came to a halt .Both of my switches in HSRP were in active mode. Before that event to happen a router was plugged in the network that had HSRP enabled .

Please can anyone advise what could have halted both the switches .

One probable reason that I can think of is loss of IP connectivity between the two switches and thus both were were active at the same time.
