I'm running a Unity 3.1(5) server and I was wondering if it was possible to backup the users and messages and import the data from a Unity 4.0(2) clean install.
No it is not. The structure of the database amongst other things changes from version to version. For this reason DiRT requires that you backup and restore to the same version.
