Public Distribution list

I have imported an exchange DL but need to hide it from the GAL. Once I hide the DL, is there an alternate way I can have an end user maintain the DL? Obviously once I hide it, the end user can't see it to maintain it......Can the user listen to the memebers of the DL and add/remove users using the phone? Similiar to private lists.. In an ideal world I wouldn't have to hide the list from the GAL but, I must.

Thanks

No, you can't maintain public distribution lists like that over the phone - enumerating the users on the list (and sub lists and sub-sub lists etc...) is pretty high overhead so we don't "flatten" the lists in the database as a rule (there's an exception for lists used to limit name lookup handlers). so you can't enumerate or edit public dl members over the phone interface at this point.
