I have a Cisco 4006 switch with a WS-X4448-GB-RJ45 where two port's are exhibiting extremely high numbers of TxPause counters. Attached to these two ports Win 2K servers.
show port flowcontrol below:
AKmdrBAKSW1> (enable) sh port flowcontrol 4/5
Port Send FlowControl Receive FlowControl RxPause TxPause Unsupported
admin oper admin oper opcodes
----- -------- -------- --------- --------- ---------- ---------- -----------
4/5 on on desired on 0 1629850 0
Question: Is this an unusual situation where it would appear that flowcontrol is being initiated on a regular basis ... average port utilisation of the gig interface is 10%?
Any possible options to improve performance ?
