DHCP client on 2611

Has anyone come across a problem with the DHCP client on the 2611 platform?

A debug IP packet shows that the DHCP client is using 0.0.0.0 as its destination broadcast address instead of 255.255.255.255.

Once the DHCP client is activated under the interface (ip address DHCP), it adds the command IP BROADCAST-ADDRESS 0.0.0.0.

Even if you override this by setting it back to 255.255.255.255, the client sets it back to 0.0.0.0.

Code: 12.3.3 (IP/FW/IDS/3DES basic)

Any ideas?

I have seen this problem caused by the config register being misconfigured. Be sure that the config register on your 2611 is 0x2102. If it is not, enter the global command "config-register 0x2102". Then do a show version to verify that the command took, the config register will not change until the router is reloaded.
