Anyone please help to clarify;

If I have three Vlans (VL1,VL2 and VL3),each with different subnet, and traffic for inter-vlan will be routed through a router.

If there are some PCs which belong to VL2 infected by NACHI worm and keep broadcasting traffic, with the inter-vlan routing enabled, will these broadcasting traffic be routed to VL1 and VL3 ?

Any different for different subnet networks (subnet A,B and C) and Vlans network ?

Please help to clarify ?

Hi,

AFAIK, Nachi is trying to ping to the whole network using the IP address of the infected PC with subnet mask 255.255.0.0 at the first stage.

I.e., if the PC has address 10.1.1.25/24 and you are using 10.1.2.0/24 for your second VLAN, it could get through your router (it will try to ping IP addresses 10.1.1.1 - 10.1.255.255).

Regards,

Milan
