I have 2 aironet 1100, one of which is associated with the other as a standby. The standby disassociates itself from the active access point when the wait for poll timer elapses, this also takes the radio down. This seems to be from a virtual interface DOT11RAD 1, which appears when the associate mac address is entered on the standby 1100.You can display this interface, but can't configure it or access it.
