DHCP error on Cat4506

We have two Cat4506 configured also for dhcp.

After changing the time to the current one the output from show runnning command, after a long wait, is truncated and only the dhcp configuration do not show up. Also when we issue the "show ip dhcp binding" command the following message appears:

"% The DHCP database could not be locked. Please retry the command later."

Do you know what is wrong

Hello,

I think changing the time on your router confuses the timers on the DHCP parameters/leases, that is why you get the message about the DHCP database being locked. For example, if you keep the default lease of 24 hours and you have several active bindings, changing the clock would mess up the internal timer that keeps track of the length of the lease. If you change the clock, issue the command:

clear ip dhcp binding *

and the show running command should work better, as well as the error message, which should disappear then.

Hello again

The solution was to give time for dhcp recalculation. After sometime (approx 1hour) the "show run" showed up ok. Also all the dhcp related info appear ok!
