hi

what is the maximum size can be allocated for

port naming and aliasing of MDS family ?

customer asked because on brocade switches

this size is limited and in huge configurations

with lot of ports in fabric and very long naming

aka (portofswitchfootoservertoo1) it should be a problem

so

are this same restriction on mds family ?

thanks in advance

I think your just asking about configuration size here.

The show system resources gives you a total amount of memory available / used

Memory usage: 1024592K total, 420476K used, 604116K free

So this would show 604116K available. What this maps over to in room for configuration discriptions is unknown but it looks like quite a bit. I have no known limit numbers in this area. I have asked this question to internal engineers, If I get other infor mation look for a posting here
