Cycling DSL Modem all Day

I’m not familiar with DSL modem at all, but I just got the lackluster duty of power cycling DSL modem on a network I monitor through Tivoli. Is this a normal characteristic of DSL modem? Is there something that can be put into a configuration that could prevent this?

No..DSL modem should never power cycle at all own its own. I would say its the issue with modems itself.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm having to power cycle the ISP's DSL modem to regain connection to the internet.
