Hi;

I'm new to doing this so I apologize for sounding stupid from the start. We have a 3660 router at our main office and 2600 at a branch office. What I want to do is securely connect these offices so I can administrate the branch office and also have the branch office use the databases on our server, and connect to its drives. If any one can point me in the direction of where to start this and what add on I'll need for these routers would be greatly appreciated.

you should be able to use them to set up an ipsec tunnel between them. you might not be running a version of cisco IOS (the operating system of the routers) that supports that though. this might cost you a little money to upgrade. you might also need to upgrade the router's flash and/or ram to support that new version of IOS that support ipsec and vpn tunnels.

do you have access to the routers? can you do a show version on each ? that should tell you most of what you need to know
