cRTP is processor intensive and is recommended for low-speed serial links or if you want to save the bandwidth. Coming to prerequisites, CRTP is supported on serial lines using Frame Relay, High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC), or PPP encapsulation. It is also supported over ISDN interfaces.
