Hi,

has anyone experience with the storm-control feature of catalyst in setting the percentage.

We have set 20% for unicast and it seems that a netware server has more than 20% utilization.

Hello,

with the percentage set to 20%, your interface will drop all packets when the interface utilization exceeds those 20%. I guess you will need to set a baseline for the Netware server, in order to find out what the maximum utilzation is. You could use MRTG for this, not sure if you are familiar with this tool...

Thanks for answer:

It´s the sense to shutdown the interface because we have some bad experience with people overflowing the network. Some more explanations: We have to implement a new infastructure (replacing our old infrastructure) and so i am going to use the new features if possible. Maybe it´s a possibility to deactivate this feature for servers but the question is, is 20% a good value for a switched 100Mbit Ethernet network.
