We've been displaying a larger number of errors on our Cat2980 can anyone recommened anything to reduce this number?

Please verify your duplex settings.
High error rates like on port 2/29 are typical for a different duplex setting on both sides of the link.

The easiest way is to make sure both ends are set the same , if you are running auto on the switch then the clients nic has to be set as auto otherwise you will end with duplex mismatches . If you decide you want to hardcode then if you set the switch at say 100/full then the client "must" be set as 100/full , if left as auto then you have a duplex mismatch again .

This is a Client Access Switch so our NICS and Switch ports are set to auto to allow different equipmemt to connect.
Only are uplinks and Server Port have been set
All ports are also have portfast enabled

Sometimes even in this day and age auto negotiation doesn't work as well as it should and one in awhile you will still have to hardcode the client ports .
