So I have a bunch of 3750s in my network...upgrade them all the same way. Today I recieved 3 new ones...upgraded the first one no problem...during the second I recieve the following:
Switch#$overwrite /reload tftp://10.20.11.15/c3750-i5k91-tar.122-20.SE3.tar
Unable to create temp dir "flash:update"
Switch#$overwrite /reload tftp://10.20.11.15/c3750-i5k91-tar.122-20.SE3.tar
Anybody have any clue how to get around this?

Hi,
Try, "rmdir flash:update" and then upgrade again.

Alok,
I gave that a whirl and it was a no go. I recieved the following error msgs:
Switch#rmdir flash:update
Remove directory filename [update]?
Delete flash:update? [confirm]
%Error Removing dir flash:update (Unknown error 93)
Switch#rmdir flash:update
Remove directory filename [update]?
Delete flash:update? [confirm]
%Error Removing dir flash:update (Unknown error 93)
Switch#
Let me know if you have any clue what is gonig on!

Hi,
On the Switch# prompt, do 'dir'.
You should see a directory called 'update' in the flash:.
Type 'cd flash:update'. This will take you tothe update folder. Type 'dir' there. Then delete all the files in the 'update' folder. Once all the files are deleted, type 'cd' and this will bring you back to the flash:.
Now try the 'rmdir flash:update' and see if it works.
Thanks

If the directory has quite a few files to delete, the task to remove all the files will be tedious. I've had this issue before and had over 300 files to removed in order to remove the directory. I've used the following command with success and not have the "unknown error 93".
del /recursive /force flash:update

1. Try after reload
2. If not working then again reload and try IOS upgradation through HTTP i.e. http://
Should help you
