ISDN issue

hi i got 1841 rtr ios 12.3 8r

when i do isdn test call i get follwoing error:

ASSERTION FAILED: file "../chips/gt96k/gt96k_timer.c", line 771

bir conf is as below:

ip address negotiated

ip nat outside

encapsulation ppp

no ip mroute-cache

shutdown

dialer idle-timeout 1000

dialer string XXXXXX

dialer-group 1

isdn switch-type basic-5ess

isdn point-to-point-setup

ppp authentication pap callin

ppp pap sent-username XXX password 0 XXX

It is in shutdown mode. I dont think it should make calls

The previous post is quite correct that with the interface in shutdown mode it should not make any calls.

If you activate the interface with no shutdown and still get this kind of error, I believe that errors with ASSERTION FAILED are software problems rather than hardware problems.
