network on private side of 3002

I am trying to connect a 3002 hardware client in network extension mode to a 3005.

The network diagrams at http://www.cisco.com/mm/techsnap/VPN3002_techsnap.html and Cisco document ID 5402 show different configurations for the private side of the 3002.

I've attached an ASCII diagram of my network setup. What network should the PCs on the private side of the 3002 live on - 163.1.53.0/24, a different public network, or an RFC1918 network ?

Thanks for any advice.

In order to do Network Extension Mode, the 3002 has to have a routable ip address hard coded on the public interface or the router in front of it has to have a static map of ip address to a routable ip address for it.
