It looks to me like trunking and pruning are 2 seperate things....

so I need to trunk some switch links... my supervisor would like me to use manual pruning as she read this was the preferred method.

Does this mean... by default when I trunk my link all vlans are placed on it... pruning appears to 'sit on top of this' so if I then prune only a subset of those vlans... won't my trunks then send unnecessary broadcasts to the vlans that I did NOT prune... but still are on the remote trunked switch???????

I have read many cisco articles but can't find one that answers that question.
