Current setup is unity 4.04sr1 with exchange 2k off box as mailstore.

We are going to exchange 2003. We will not upgrade on same exchange box, but rather install new exchange 2003 software on new box.

What is the best method to then take all the current exchange 2000 mailboxes and move them over to the 2003 exchange box to keep unity working without a hiccup. The new server will also have a different name... current is is_exchange... Is there a tool to change this in unity... what other configs with unity do I need to worry about so that unity continues to function with all the unity accounts and mailboxes as this happens... I know there are new exchange tools that will need to be loaded on to unity box as well..

Any help would be appreciated on this!!

One option would be to follow the instructions in the link below for moving Exchange 2000 to a new server with the same name. You could then upgrade the server to Exchange 2003, change the server name and follow the instructions in the Reconfiguration and Upgrade Guide for changing the Unity partner server. There is also a section on upgrading Exchange. As you said, the Exchange tools will need to be upgraded. You will also need to run the Permissions Wizard on the Unity server.
