Help!!! - Erase Flash error! 3750 Catalyst Switch

Hi,

In my error I ran a 'erase flash' and deleted the entire flash rather than a file within the flash. Now the switch boots into a 'switch:' mode with limited options. Is there a way of copying across a flash. Xmodem doesnt seem an option?

Thanks

Please try if the following applies to your switch:

The contents below are the only commands when I type ?, I have a load_helper but it doesnt seem to help. I was hoping to do a rommon, then download the file from hypertrm but it doesnt seem to work? any other ideas, thanks

delete -- Delete file(s)

dir -- List files in directories

flash_init -- Initialize flash filesystem(s)

format -- Format a filesystem

fsck -- Check filesystem consistency

help -- Present list of available commands

load_helper -- Load and initialize a helper image

memory -- Present memory heap utilization information

mkdir -- Create dir(s)

more -- Concatenate (display) file(s)

rename -- Rename a file

reset -- Reset the system

rmdir -- Delete empty dir(s)

set -- Set or display environment variables

set_bs -- Set attributes on a boot sector filesystem

set_param -- Set system parameters in flash

sleep -- Pause (sleep) for a specified number of seconds

-- MORE --

trap -- Cause a software breakpoint to occur

type -- Concatenate (type) file(s)

unset -- Unset one or more environment variables

version -- Display boot loader version

Hello,

can you try the 'flash_init' command first ?

Have a look at the document below (it is not specifically for the 3750, but I think the procedure is the same):

Recovering Catalyst 2950, 2955, and 3550 Series Switches from a Corrupted or Missing Image

Hi

In additions to leos comments would like to know the issues in using the Xmodem option available out there.

i have seen uploading ios using Xmodem into the 3750 switches only the .bin files ,if possible can u also try that and chck it up how it goes..

once u r thru with that you mite want to check this link to get on the whole bundle onto ur flash system..

Hi,

Thanks, it worked!!!! - I used the copy xmodem command and it took around 2 hours to copy the file. Then used the boot flash:(file name) and it works all ok. cheers
