Connecting 2x 3550's and routing

We have 2x 3550's that are linked by 100MB.

We want to implement 1 Vlan per switch so Vlan 10 and Vlan 11 and we plan to give each switch an ip address for the Vlan. How can Vlan 10 on switch 1 talk to a device in Vlan 11 on the other switch? The 100MB will be a trunk. Do we have to configure an SVI for both VLANs on both switches and use HSRP?

Will this work?

Hello,

yes, configure the SVIs for both VLANs on both switches, and configure the standby (HSRP) groups according to your needs. It might be a good idea to configure e.g. one of the switches as active for one group and standby for the other, and the other switch in a similar way, in order to achieve some sort of redundancy:
