Adding vlans to existing trunk on 6500

Hi,

Can someone confirm let me know the following :-

1) What is the command to add vlans to an existing trunk on a 6500 series .. its using CatOS.

Here is the trunk being used.

clear trunk 2/5 1-81,83-100,106-111,114-119,122-124,127-139,141-1005

set trunk 2/5 on dot1q 82,101-105,112-113,120-121,125-126,140,1025-4094

I would like to add these vlans in :-

1) 161 - 168,

2) 650 -701

2) There would be no downtime to do this change right ?

Thank you,

"set trunk 2/5 on dot1q 161-168,650-701 " . No downtime. If running client/server you add this on the server , if running transparent then you have to do this on both sides.

If this port 2/5 is channeled with port 2/6, then I would need to add the command as follow to both end of the switch right ?

set trunk 2/5-6 on dot1q 161-168,650-701

If I configure as :-

set trunk 2/5 on dot1q 161-168,650-701

what would happen ? Would the channel fail in this instance ?

Please advice,

Thank you,
