When I used "debug ppp negotiation" command, it caused my router to hang (7200 dsl router).

I set up a logging buffer of 20000 lines, to prevent memory overloading, but what about increased cpu processes? What exactly causes the debug crashes ? And what commands will restrict debugging to prevent them ?

Any commands,links, or thoughts would be appreciated.
