couls anyone pls clarify the differnce between asa 7.0 and pix 7.0 ios . i checked with the command reference . bo the ioses have the same commands. i guess the only difference between the two is that the asa can have a inbuilt antivirus and ips engine making it a single box solution . whereas with pix u need to have a external ips. any more differnces pls share. thank u

On the PIX security appliance, the failover link can be either a LAN-based connection or a dedicated serial Failover cable. But on the ASA platform, the failover link can only be a LAN-based connection

Sushil,
Most of the features are common between these two devices.. One of the most important difference I can see is that PIX V7.0 does not support WebVPN, whereas ASA supports....
Just check for the release notes for more information.
