Wireless Lan Controller and AP Group VLAN

I am using Wireless LAN controller with software version 3.2.78.0. My question is the purpose/function of the "AP Group VLAN" config option under the WLANs section. The on-line help is useless in explaining "what this is" and "when to use" matters. My "guess" is that I can restrict the WLAN (SSID network) that would be serviced for each of the wireless AP? Am I correct? In other words, I could have "test SSID" and "prod SSID", and through this grouping option I can configure a specific AP to service "test SSID" but not "prod SSID", is this correct? And if so, is this the primary/only functions for this configuration?

Thanks in advance.

p.s.

BTW, in my setup I have all wireless network on the same interface and on the same VLAN.

Yes you are correct. The whole idea in having the AP group VLAN concept is to group set of APs to a specific SSID.
