Digital Networking Clarification Wanted

Hi,

I have installed two 4.0(5) Unity servers into the same Active Directory Forest/Domain and using the same Exchange 2003 server to house the subscribers. However, these Unity servers are serviced by separate CallManager 4.1(3) Clusters.

Does this configuration still warrant Digital Networking?

If there is an inter-cluster trunk setup between the two CallManager clusters, is digital networking still applicable?

Reading the documentation I am still confused as to what benefits the customer may receive with this configuration.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Well, the benefits are pretty huge. Users on both systems can address messages to users on the other system - if they're in the same dialing domain you can also transfer to them from the auto attendant. You can have users across both boxes be added to the same public and private distribution lists if you like. Anything that involves finding/transfering/messaging users in the directory will be available to you.

The networking documentation goes into great detail on the addressing and directory stuff here - is there something specific that is confusing you?
