Would like to check exactly how many conference calls a 3825 with 2x PVDM2-64 can support (G.711 codec)? Still not so clear when checked with SRND4.1.
This 3825 will be configured as a dedicated conference device. No other functions will be running on this router. A PVDM2-64 can support 32 conferences. So what does it exactly mean? A single conference can support 32 parties to join in. Is that the case? Thanks.

It means that you can have 32 conferencing sessions with up to 8 participants in each session.
Keep in mind that each PVDM2-64 provides 32 sessions, however you will never be able to fully utilize 2 64 channel PVDMs for conferening as the maximum is 50. So with the amount of PVDMs you have you can configure 50 sessions with 8 participants in each session.
Also, check out the DSP calculator:

Requirement is we have more than 8 participants for each session. Is it possible to combine 2 sessions to make 16 participants to join a single session?
Thanks again.

Use the Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming Application on a CallManager.
Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming Application on a CallManager supports a maximum of 64 participants in Ad Hoc conferences, or 128 in a Meet Me conference.
It only supports g.711, so you can use that ISR based DSP for transcoding.

So it seems like 3825 can't do more than 8 participants per each conference session. Is this the case? Any workaround other than running Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming Application on a CallManager to support our requirement (more than 8 participants per each conference session)?
Thanks again.

You are correct 8 participants per conference session is max, you could create a conference two seperate 7 users sessions together, It should work fine.

Thanks.
Does this 8 participants requirement is run by default? It seems like we can only have 6 participants to join a single conference session. Do we need to change any command in 3825? Again we are running 3825 with PVDM2-64 mdoule. Thanks.
