Caller ID for transfers on CME

Unanswered Question

A customer with CME would like incoming calls answered at reception and then transferred, to show the original caller id on the destination phone when ringing and not the operator's phone number. Does anyone know of a way to acheive this in CME ?

Thanks,

Phil

  • Cisco Employee,

The caller ID for original caller will show only when the transfered-to phone answers the call if you're using transfer-system full-consult. For the receptionist's ephone-dn, you may want to configure transfer-mode blind, so that the operator will perform blind transfers, which will cause the display to update immediately.

Thanks, but they would really like to keep full-consult to allow consult if required or for the operator to check for ring tone before pressing transfer to drop out of the call. At this stage it would be good if the display updated to show the original caller.

Looks like the local-consult option updates the display to show the original calling number but the full-consult option doesn't.
