Hi All

i have a Router connected to PBX via 4 FXO card and have on the other side a call manager v4 with 4 Ip phones.

The problem is that my router doesn't support ccm-manager command (maybe wrong IOS) so i was unable to setup mgcp properly, i tried to configure it as h323 gateway but i didn't find a way on how to translate the calls from analogue to IP and vise-versa.

my analogue extentions are 31 32 33 34 and my ip phones are 1050 1051 1052 1053.

do you know what i need to do to make this router translate properly and what modification i need to make on the call manager

I'm new in IP telephony and your help will be great

thanks a lot

Just so i understand... you have 4 fxo ports going into the trunk card of a PBX right?

If so ..what type PBX do you have?

Hi

yes that's right the 4FXO port connect to the PBX, and the model is Panasonic,

there is no special configuration add on the PABX as we want the translation to be done by the router

Since the ports are FXO, it doesn't support called digits. Hence you cannot route calls to any IP Phone. You would need to send all calls that hit the FXO to either an IP Phone (operator) or an Auto Attendant and then route calls from there.

1. On the router FXO ports, add connection plar statements to send calls to an IP Phone, say 1050

voice-port 1/0/0

connection plar 1050

see this link for more details

2. Add dial-peers to send calls to 1050 to the Callmanager and calls to 31, 32, 33 and 34 to the respective FXO ports

dial-peer voice 100 voip

destination-pattern 1050

session-target ipv4:X.X.X.X (ip address of Callmanager)

check this link for more details

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_configuration_example09186a0080094852.shtml

dial-peer voice 10 pots

destination-pattern 31

port 1/0/0

forward-digits all

3. Configure the gateway as a H.323 gateway in Callmanager

Hi Anup

First thanks a lot for your detailed explanation, but there is one thing that confuse so i want it to be clear in my head before i implement it.

here is the mapping that i want :

31 (analogue phone) --> 1050 ip phone

what i want to say is : when a guy from the analogue system call extention 31 the call will hit the PBX then the FXO, when it arrive to the FXO what will happen next ? it will be forewarded as it is to the ip phone 1050 ?

thanks a lot for your help
