Hi,

You certainly do need to get the VPI/VCI from the provider, otherwise you do not have a way to tell the 1721 which PVC to use..

Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

Paresh

I'll try to contact my provider to check what it is.

thanks

mhel,

Most service providers use a particular vpi/vci pair (usually 0/35 or 8/35, some service providers could use a diff. vpi/vci pair). Once you get a VPI/VCI value from service provider, here is a sample config which enables PPPOE on the adsl wic.

vpdn enable

!

vpdn-group pppoe

request-dialin

protocol pppoe

interface ATM0/1/0

no ip address

no atm ilmi-keepalive

bundle-enable

dsl operating-mode auto

!

interface ATM0/1/0.1 point-to-point

pvc 0/35 <--- vpi/vci

pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1

!

!

interface Dialer1

ip address

ip mtu 1492

encapsulation ppp

dialer pool 1

ppp authentication pap callin

ppp pap sent-username password
