876 ADSL Line Problems

Hi,

we have an C876 ADSL CPE (PPPoE) which is not able synchronise on the DSL line (CD LED keeps flashing).

We have already replaced the CPE without success. However, a SOHO96 or a C836 work on this line without probs. Even the C876 work on other lines without probs.

I am running c870-adventerprisek9-mz.123-8.YI3.bin on the C876. Config is:

Any idea what the difference between 876 and 836 resp. SOHO could be? Is the C876 chipset more sensitive against noise?

Hello Olaf,

some older ISP DSLAMs have a problem with the 876. Who is your ISP ?

You could also try ´dsl operating-mode ansi-dmt´, sometimes that makes a differenec.

I assume you are sure that your ISP uses CHAP for authentication ? Otherwise try:

ppp authentication chap pap callin

ppp chap hostname xxxx

ppp chap password xxx

ppp pap sent-username username password 0 password
