What is the difference between "end of software maintenance releases" and the "last date of support" statement when you look at the EOL information .

Hi Glen,

End of software maintenance releases means that there will no longer be scheduled maintenance software releases. In other words, unless there is a very good business justification to create a subsequent maintenance release (such as a security vulnerability), no more software releases will occur for the platform.

Last date of support is he last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

HTH,

Bobby

Does that mean if they did find a bad security vulnerability they would fix it up thru the last date of support then . Otherwords if you put the last known version for a given train such as 5.5.21 then they would fix it up thru the last date of support ? I understand there would not be any more bug fixes really more concerned about the security end of it . Thanks..

That is correct.

Now, once the last date of support passes, there won't be any support whatsoever on the platform, as far as software or hardware goes. Now, if there was a config problem, for example, TAC will provide best effort support on it.

HTH,

Bobby
