Cisco 7970 SIP firmware

Hello,

Can somebody tell me how i can upgrade my Cisco 7970 telephone to SIP ? ( Without the use of Call manager 5.0)

New firmware availble :

cmterm-7970_7971-sip.8-0-2-0.cop

And what is *.cop of an extension ?

I believe the SIP firmware is only for CCM5 at this time. The .cop extension is for CCM5 as well as there is a new method of installing phone loads due to the use of Linux as the OS

The .cop is really jsut a gzipped tar file, rename it to .tar.gz and extract all the files to your TFTP server directory. The phone should upgrade automatically.

Thanks for your advise !. Can you tell me exactly how to update the 7970 to SIP (without Callmanager 5.0) ?

I tried with OS79XX.TXT with the text cmterm-7970_7971-sip.8-0-2-0 , SIPDefault.cnf with the text image_version:cmterm-7970_7971-sip.8-0-2-0 but nothing is hapen.

Is there an document availble ?
